Hello and welcome! As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, I believe in a strength based approach to personal healing and growth. As a therapist, I respect the opportunity to work with individuals and families struggling with grief and loss by providing a safe place to share, learn and heal.
I foster empathy and acceptance as patients and families address life changing diagnoses and care needs. With over ten years of experience providing support to individuals and caregivers struggling with dementia and mood related issues, I utilize an integrated approach including, but not limited to, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, and Psychotherapy. I seek to empower individuals and families with the knowledge and tools they need to promote dignity and wellness.
Finally, my background in grief and loss counseling has also prepared me to address the unrecognized and often untreated issues associated with pet loss, specifically the complicated and overwhelming emotions associated with chronic and terminal care of a pet, related end of life issues, and the emotionally challenging process of pet surrender.
Thank you for taking the time to read my profile. Your insight and willingness to seek support is the first step toward healing and growth. I wish you the best on your journey!

Online counseling, sometimes called teletherapy, refers to talk therapy delivered remotely through digital platforms, such as video calls, phone calls, or chat. It can be a great option for people who face barriers to traditional face-to-face therapy, such as those living in remote areas, individuals with mobility issues, or people with busy schedules that make it difficult to attend in-person sessions.
Teletherapy also offers greater convenience and flexibility, allowing clients to access care from the comfort of their homes. Research shows that the treatment outcomes with online counseling are often just as effective as with traditional therapy, providing a viable alternative for individuals seeking mental health support.

Jessica has been a true blessing. She has been so helpful in this rollercoaster life have brought me. She truly listens to understand my concerns and then gives advice in a realistic way that sets you up for success. I cannot say enough good things about our time together so far. This is the first time in my life that I have actually made progress through therapy and it’s all thanks to her taking the time out to understand, listen and talk to me as a real person. She is just great!
Jessica is great! She has helped me walk through some of my struggles and is able to find homework for me to do to go along with what’s happening at the time

She has provided life changing resources and tools for coping and has helped me learn how to set boundaries and expectations. This therapy has been life changing and I highly recommend Jessica!
Jessica is an amazing therapist. She listens to my concerns and lets us focus on what im feeling is most important at that moment. She’s always respectful in the way she communicates her thoughts and responds to me way faster and more frequently than I initially expected when I signed up for better help. I would absolutely recommend Jessica and better help to friends and family.
Awesome therapist - knowledgable, helpful, prayerful, kind and friendly
Jessica has provided me life-changing tools to implement in my everyday life to deal with depression, anxiety, and PTSD. She listens carefully, asks clarifying questions, and gets down to the root of the issue. I never leave a session without learning something new about myself and see the positive outlook on my journey. She has changed my life and her guidance allows me cope with my day-to-day struggles.
She is so very patient, understanding, good listener, not judging, gives great feedback. Can't say enough, she truly is amazing at her job!!
I am new to therapy and was uncomfortable with the idea but decided to just jump in. Jessica has made it a delightful experience and has been incredibly helpful. She’s also made me feel comfortable to be open and she tries to personally get to know me rather than solely doing her job. I truly feel like I’m listed to and supported.
Jessica is a great listener and I really appreciate the strategies she gives me before the next session,. They are very helpful. She also finds ways to make me laugh even though my situation is not a laughing matter. She just knows how to ease the tension.
Amazing at understanding my issues and giving me tools after two sessions to be a better communicator and work through taking care of me!
Jessica is very friendly, easy to talk too, and seems to know what to do to help. I am pleased so far how things are going.
I'm loving the connection I have with Jessica Hanson. She really understands what I'm saying even when I don't say it clearly. Insanely kind person who truly wants to help.
Jessica has provided a lot for f good tools to use as I am navigating this chapter of my life she is very kind and understanding
Jessica keeps it real in a professional way, which I respond to really well. She listens to my concerns and focuses on whatever I want to focus on that day. She responds to messages in a timely fashion and always makes me feel heard. She offers great therapeutic advice and is all around a great sounding board and therapist.
Jessica has been very helpful. She listens to my concerns and works through them with me. She offers a variety of tools and revisits them when needed. I enjoy working with her!
Jessica has been so helpful and caring, all while remaining professional and providing real tools for solving real life problems. I've never done therapy for this long - it's given me the stable footing that I needed in my life. Highly recommend!
Jessica is such a well-rounded professional. She lets the client share their wants and needs with therapy and formulates and approach from there. She offers a variety of strategies to help me work through challenges. Per my request, Jessica gives me short and simple “homework” activities (that are optional) that help me remain accountable between sessions and help me to reflect on what we discussed. She is upbeat, empathetic, and validating. I am so glad I was connected with her and within 2 sessions, she has helped me work through more than she knows! I would highly recommend Jessica. Thank you for what you do!
Jessica is very positive and encouraging to me during very challenging moments.
She’s great
After learning that local therapists were scheduling six or more months out, I reluctantly turned to betterhelp. I was matched with Jessica right away and we met that same week. She has been such a gift to my journey. She helped me climb out of a very dark space and once I was more healthy, helped me work toward other professional and personal goals. She is well-trained in both mental health and leadership coaching. Awesome presence. Amazing, deep knowledge. She is the best of the best.
Jessica has been SO helpful to me. She is exceedingly patient and kind. I started out wanting to work on my romantic relationships with her and have ended up working on so many other aspects of my life by extension - career, family, etc. I highly recommend her as a therapist.
Jessica takes time to address and correct thinking while covering several topics each session. I appreciate her forward thinking approach and focus on strengths and activities to do between sessions. She is down to earth and straight forward, while taking time to identify and connect with you.
Working with Jessica has been awesome so far! She has validated my feelings every step of the way, finds ways to point out my strengths, and then use them to address any concerns I have.
I have only been working with Jessica for 2 weeks and I am already learning a lot. She is a great listener and our sessions have been very productive. I would highly recommend her to anyone who is looking for help. I am excited to continue working with her and changing myself for the better.
I sought out BetterHelp because I felt stuck. I chose Jessica specifically because of her work related to grief over dogs. My issue was not dog grief (though some of it might be) but I thought someone that empathetic would be a good person to have in my corner. I have had just two sessions but I already feel more in control of my life and future. In my first session alone, I felt a heavy load lift from my shoulders for all the insight. Jessica is a wonderful listener and provides intuitive, practical tools for navigating relationships and the future.
In the short time I have met with Jessica, I am blown away at how easy it is to talk to her, how understanding she is and how much I have gotten out of our sessions! She is wonderful!!!
Jessica is a great listener and really asks probing questions to understand your situation and works out solutions tailored just for you
She responds and is supportive between sessions which I greatly appreciate.
