We've all had difficult experiences. These experiences can cause pain and suffering. I believe we can heal from these experiences and grow from them, becoming more of who we truly are and want to be. I have worked with a large range of life circumstances including anxiety, depression, medical illnesses, grief, self-esteem, LGBT and loss. In these painful experiences we all are faced with healing that pain. Through my academic studies, professional work and personal life experiences I have come to believe that healing is something which can be learned. My focus in counseling has been with individuals, couples and/or a group as a guide for people as they are healing through life.

Empowerment over life comes through thinking clearly and making wise choices. Unfortunately, problems can become so overwhelming that it is difficult to accomplish either one of these. We will focus on your goals and move at a pace that is comfortable for you. I can offer tools and suggestions for relief from many common and not-so common problems. I understand that a one-size-fits-all therapy approach is not always useful, so I will work with you to create personalized goals that fit with your experience.

As a committed provider of therapy, I take pride in offering the best care possible. I value all forms of diversity and encourage you to bring all aspects of yourself into our work together.

Online counseling, sometimes called teletherapy, refers to talk therapy delivered remotely through digital platforms, such as video calls, phone calls, or chat. It can be a great option for people who face barriers to traditional face-to-face therapy, such as those living in remote areas, individuals with mobility issues, or people with busy schedules that make it difficult to attend in-person sessions.

Teletherapy also offers greater convenience and flexibility, allowing clients to access care from the comfort of their homes. Research shows that the treatment outcomes with online counseling are often just as effective as with traditional therapy, providing a viable alternative for individuals seeking mental health support.

Heath is wonderful. As someone who has never been in therapy before, I was a little scared and nervous at first. Heath listened to me and dug into why I feel the way that I do and have the issues I have. Heath gave me plenty of worksheets and tasks to help better myself and deal with some of the negative behaviors I had.

I was assaulted and needed immediate help to regain my ability to go back to work . I was experiencing panic attacks and high levels of anxiety for the first time in my life that I had zero control over. He was super compassionate and listened to my needs and offered help in multiple ways . Having a concussion on top of it all made my ability to understand and track thoughts and ideas was difficult, so he met me where I was both physically and emotionally and dove in to help. I am doing much better after just two weeks of interactions with him! Thank you!

Heath is my first and only therapy experience. He makes me feel comfortable and at ease and I leave every session with him feeling glad that I talked to him. He’s very personable and offers a variety of tools to help outside of the sessions. He does a great job remembering the things I tell him and bringing them up in later sessions to check in. I’ve learned so much with him and I attribute so much of my personal growth to my time with him. I highly recommend Heath.

Heath is a great therapist. He was a big help to me in my journey to not only return back to my normal self, but also to improve and be better equipped to handle life in the future. He is an active listener and is very knowledgeable.

Although I wasn’t able to continue therapy as long as I would have liked, I really enjoyed messaging with Heath. Sometimes we just need someone to listen and it was incredibly helpful talking to him for even just a short time. It was a gentle reminder of how much I need to invest in myself again, and how much I had been neglecting doing so since having kids. I definitely recommend him as your therapist and I hope that if I can return to Better Help, I can get matched with him again. Thank you Heath!

So I just returned to therapy after a 2 year hiatus. Heath has a lot of intuition and understanding of the world. When I describe to him my problems, he’s really good at calling me out on my false perceptions which is what I need from a therapist. For example, I accepted a job that’s been awful since day one and Heath was very honest with me that it does not seem like a good fit nor is it an ethical organization. He was exactly right and I wish I had listened sooner.

I appreciated the fact that Heath realized that even though we had 5 minutes left on our session I was becoming uncomfortable. He keyed in in this quickly and ended the session before it got worse. It's hard for me to have the attention on me so it was nice to know that even in the short time he understood some of my limits.
