Russ has been a great therapist for the duration of our sessions. He’s always working to build rapport and credibility between us. The sessions feel less like work and more like an opportunity for growth. I can always count on Russ to show up when necessary, and appreciate the wit we both bring to our sessions.

Hi! My name is Russell or Rusty or Russ, whichever you prefer. My approach is casual, but also rooted in science. Like an astronaut might say they “always knew they wanted to be an astronaut”, I’ve always known I wanted to be a therapist. I’ve studied the more interesting psychological treatment approaches, like humanistic theory, motivational and mindfulness based approaches, but graduated from a rigorous Psychology program rooted in the science of Cognitive Behavioral Theory. My Master's degree is a Master’s of Science in Social Work.

I believe that there’s a framework that fits everyone and every problem, but that good outcomes are rooted in a good therapeutic rapport as well as an approach that actually works. Let’s let your challenges guide our treatment approach, I’m here to listen and help you solve!

It is convenient for those who may have trouble getting to or would prefer not to have in-person therapy appointments. Starting at $65 per week, online counseling is generally more affordable than in-person counseling. A study by researchers at University of California, Berkeley found that online counseling can be just as effective as face-to-face therapy while being more convenient, affordable, and accessible.

I’ve been seeing Russell for just over a year now. I initially started therapy because I had difficulty with my anxiety and it was getting to the point where it was affecting my daily routine and I had trouble functioning most days. After starting therapy Russell quickly helped me feel comfortable and provided me with a safe place to talk about all of the stuff I had going on in my life that I never really had the courage to talk about before. Russell has always been accommodating to me being a few minutes late for some sessions due to work and always accommodated me changing the way we were gonna do therapy (either video call or texting). With Russell’s help I have been able to find techniques that can help me deal with my anxiety effectively and I am happy to say it no longer affects my daily life. I would highly recommend Russell to anyone looking for a therapist!

I was very fortunate to find Russell at a time when I desperately needed his help. Since I've started therapy with him, I've been able to let go of guilt and begin reframing my emotional trauma into something that will help me heal from rejection. I always look forward to our meetings. I trust Russell, and I try my best to implement the corrective thoughts and behaviors he recommends. I know that he has my best interest in mind. I look forward to the client/therapist relationship that we've formed, for now and in the future.

Great therapist!

Reviewed January 2023

10 months ago…. I was depressed, lost in life, had issue with my family, my love relationship was a mess. I didn’t know what to do with myself. I tried speaking to people whom I’m close to but they aren’t no therapist. They have their own issues that they are dealing with. So I decided to try therapy for the first time in my life. When I first started my session with Russell, it was nerve wrecking. Video call with a stranger talking about your struggle and trauma? Man, I remembered I switched to chat for my first session. BUT I stuck with it, we had weekly video call (sometimes audio). Slowly but steadily, my thoughts got untangled and I started to realize WHY I’m feeling the way I was feeling and IT IS OK! Russell taught me a very crucial life lesson. Just FEEL the feelings and let your mind process these negative/positive encounters. Be in the present moment NOT stuck in your mind. Throughout my healing journey, I have picked up a few crucial skills that I will be sticking for rest of my life (meditation!). I don’t know why I didn’t started this earlier if I knew the positive outcome it brings to my life. ANYWAY, thank you for everything Russell. Although, I’m healed. I will be keeping in touch with Russell. He’s not just a therapist but become my true friend

Reviewed November 2022

Russell truly tried to understand who I am as a person, and offered me guidance based on my strengths and challenges. He views life with a growth mindset and really motivates me to continue practicing the techniques that would help me with my self confident, attachment style as well as interpersonal relationships. Thank you for guiding me through my past traumas, recent breakup and insecurities. It is a blessing to have a therapist that I can view as a true friend.

Being my first time speaking to a therapist, I find Russell very easy to talk to and I have confidence in him.

Reviewed February 2022

I am a queer, polyamorous, sex-positive, kinky, cis-woman and Russell has provided a safe space and judgment-free atmosphere for my experiences and traumas. He talks to me like a friend as well as a therapist. He accepts sexual diversity, differing desires and relationships structures, and individual choices based on consent. He has affirmed my sexuality without making it the sole focus of my treatment. I have only been seeing him for a month to deal with some situation grief and I already feel some relief. I am able to message him occasionally when things get challenging between sessions and he responds back with both helpful and thoughtful words. I look forward to diving into some more topics and setting some future goals.

Reviewed January 2022

I have been very impressed with Russell. He is a very warm and caring practitioner and very professional. He keeps on task in attending to the reasons I sought help. I had not realized that a response from the journal writing was part of this program, but each time I post a journal entry I receive a thoughtful, helpful note back from Russell with suggestions. I think Russell is an excellent therapist and at the end of my 4 sessions, if I require ongoing help, I would definitely ask for him again.
