More about Jorrene

  • 30 years' experience
  • Female
  • LMSW

I’m a Licensed Clinical MSW with 30 years experience in private practice with my Licensed Clinical Psychologist husband. I’ve worked with people in a psychiatric hospital, a Veteran’s Administration hospital and Partial Hospital. In these settings, as well as outpatient in my private practice, I’ve worked with most emotional concerns including, of course, depression, anxiety, trust, shame as well as more complex sources of emotional discomfort.

My training and supervision has been in interpersonal, psychodynamic and cognitive behavior therapy, but more important, I think, is the core of my approach, the real and genuine relationship within which the therapist is fully present. Decades of research have shown the incredible healing power of a real therapy relationship.

I’ll try to help you understand and find direction for yourself. I’ll never tell you what to do and only rarely give advice.

I hope this is what you are seeking and I look forward to working with you.

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space. Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.

My therapist knew exactly what she was dealing with me on the first day. In fact she gave me an exercise that completely helped me understand what to do in between sessions.
