More about Elizabeth

I approach counseling from a different lens unique to each individual I work with. I believe strongly that our early experiences combined with our current reality shape who we become. My approach combines modern science and evidence-based practices within the context of you as whole human- your spirituality, your personality, your upbringing, your sexuality, all of it. My goal is to empower you and help you empower yourself to be your best self, no matter what you’ve been through or what you’re going through.

My specialties include dealing with issues of past traumas, relationship and family problems, grief and loss, and personal growth. I enjoy working with diverse individuals of all races, age, genders, sexualities, and neurotypes.

In my past work, my focus has always been with folks experiencing marginalization in various forms. I began with individuals facing homelessness, mental illness, and substance use disorders. I spent time in graduate school working with Native folks and other marginalized ethnic groups in the public health field. I went on to work with inpatient forensic clients, including individuals deemed trial incompetent and/or, the legal term, “Guilty Except for Insanity.” Working with these populations taught me that every person has strengths and resilience no matter what life has thrown at them, and every person is capable of meeting their goals when they’re given the right environments and tools.

I received my Bachelor of Science in Psychology, a certificate in Conceptual Foundations of Medicine, and International Women’s and Gender Studies at the University of Pittsburgh. I went on to complete a Masters Degree in School Work ad Masters Degree in Public Health. I regularly utilize continuing education and trainings to keep my lens fresh and up-to-date.

It is convenient for those who may have trouble getting to or would prefer not to have in-person therapy appointments. Starting at $65 per week, online counseling is generally more affordable than in-person counseling. A study by researchers at University of California, Berkeley found that online counseling can be just as effective as face-to-face therapy while being more convenient, affordable, and accessible.
