Cynthia is an amazing therapist! She actively listens to me, analyzes what I’ve said, and assigns me skills to practice. She will also point out negative thoughts that I have and give me the tools to change those habits. I enjoy our sessions!

- Dr. Martin Luther King

Hello, My name is Cynthia

I am a 20 year retired Army Veteran with over 7 years of experience as a Licensed Social Worker Professional and I have a (LCSW) Clinical License with the State of Tennessee. I am an Alumni of the University of Memphis where I earned her Bachelors and Master’s Degree of Social Work. I have always had the calling to help people in need. For approximately 5 years I was fortunate enough to experience being a Foster Parent to children and adolescent teens who needed unconditional love in a caring environment . This experience was an eye-opening turning point which led me to pursue a degree as a social worker. I have practiced in the following professional settings: Medical Home Health Care Social Worker, Drug and Alcohol Counselor, Transitional Counselor, HIV/AIDS Social Work Counselor, Medical Dialysis Social Worker, VA Mental Health Intensive Case Manager Licensed Social Worker and VA Homeless Licensed Social Worker. I hold the following certification: Academy Certified Social Worker (ACSW), Compassion Fatigue Trainer for Healthcare, Mental Health and Caring Professionals (CCFP),Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP) and Mandatory Pre-Screening Agent (MPA) with Tennessee Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services. My practice offers Comprehensive Treatment approach for Individual, LBGT, Family and Group counseling as appropriate, utilizing evidence- based best practice intervention not limited to Psychotherapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Exposure Therapy, Task Center, Solution Focused, Anger Management, and Motivational Interviewing. Telehealth sessions are available to meet flexible schedules.

Just few of my personal hobbies include painting, reading, drawing, gardening, cooking, traveling, and of course interacting with people.

I am an active Member of the National Association Of Social Workers NASW.

Online counseling, sometimes called teletherapy, refers to talk therapy delivered remotely through digital platforms, such as video calls, phone calls, or chat. It can be a great option for people who face barriers to traditional face-to-face therapy, such as those living in remote areas, individuals with mobility issues, or people with busy schedules that make it difficult to attend in-person sessions. Teletherapy also offers greater convenience and flexibility, allowing clients to access care from the comfort of their homes. Research shows that the treatment outcomes with online counseling are often just as effective as with traditional therapy, providing a viable alternative for individuals seeking mental health support.
