I'm very fortunate and lucky for the opportunity to work with Erica. She does amazing work and she has helped me so much. Even when therapy has been difficult for me, she is always understanding and listens to what I have to say. She offers a lot of different perspectives to help me understand my emotions too. I was skeptical about therapy sessions that were not in-person, and she has made me feel comfortable and confident about it. Highly recommend.

More about Erica

  • 14 years' experience

Hello! My name is Erica and I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker(LICSW) in Massachusetts. I received my Bachelors in Psychology with a Minor in Social Welfare in 2005 from Bridgewater State College. I then received my Masters in Social Work(MSW) from Boston College in 2007. In addition to being a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker I am also licensed as a School Adjustment Counselor/School Social Worker in Massachusetts.

I have been in the helping profession for 14 years. I have worked in different settings including residential, public schools, and outpatient with clients of all ages. I have spent the last 10 years of my career in school social work helping children, teens, and their families make positive changes in their lives and manage daily stressors. My clients have experienced a wide range of behavioral and emotional needs.

I know how important it is in a therapeutic relationship to feel safe, valued, respected, and heard to develop trust with your therapist. I do my best to create a safe, non judgemental space so that my clients feel comfortable sharing their deepest thoughts and emotions. I believe therapy works best with collaboration. When a client and therapist work hand in hand to identify goals and explore opportunities for change.

My main areas of focus have included depression, anxiety, stress, self-esteem issues, family conflict, anger management, life changes/adjustments, family issues, parenting skills, relationship concerns, emotion regulation, trauma, and grief and loss.

I look forward to meeting and working with you!

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.

Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.
