More about Amy

  • 10 years' experience

  • LCSW

Hello to all, I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with ten years' experience as a clinician, including five years at a mental health urgent care.

I help clients navigate anxiety, depression, Bipolar Disorder, trauma, anger, workplace problems, family/ relationship dynamics, assertiveness, communication, and boundaries.

Not widely experienced with addiction treatment (alcohol, drugs or "process disorders" - pornography, gambling, exercise), eating disorder treatment, body dysmorphia or Autism Spectrum Disorder.

My service has been diverse in terms of gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, race, religion and age.

I especially enjoy working with young adults as they encounter the demands of the world and seek to build life independently.

Many people ask what therapy is like. For those new to therapy, it's a conversation in a judgment-free zone. I take a warm and engaging approach that's strength-based (identifying and drawing on your strengths).

I'm active and like to challenge unhelpful thought patterns and ask questions to get to the core of a problem. Voicing your concerns and being heard can relax your mind and body.

I prefer using video sessions and phone if more convenient. I'm not offering live chat feature; seeing and hearing clients helps me determine the level wellness or struggle best.

Depending on each person's needs I may suggest coping techniques from modalities like grounding, exposure therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Psychodynamic Therapy and others that may help.

If you would like to work towards improving your emotional health I'm happy to explore issues with you.

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.

Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.

Amy is extremely responsive to my issues and concerns. While they may be trivial to some people, I don't find them that way. I am trying to find ways to deal with these issues. She has listening to these concerns and provides me with great tips.
