Greetings!

My name is Gloria Cooper, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor, and a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor. Additionally, I have a Certification as an Early Childhood Intervention Therapist (ECIT) I have acquired 12 years of experience providing individual and family therapy for clients with a variety of emotional, psychological and social needs. My goal is to assist clients in being at their optimal, through a variety of therapeutic techniques.

My primary approach is Cognitive Behavior Therapy, a power technique, that assist the client in exploring and eliminating negative thinking patterns that are worsening their depression, anger and anxiety. Dialectical Behavior Therapy assists the client in exploring inner conflicts that are leading to faulty thinking patterns. These two therapies help my clients build psychological tools, and resources needed to overcome the barriers that are preventing them from being their best selves.

My clients are able to speak freely, and feel they are in a safe environment to be themselves. I believe this is the most important role of a good therapist. Throughout the therapeutic process, you will feel that you are being heard, validated and not judged. You will be in a position to grow emotionally at your own rate, not mine. You and I will work together, to help you achieve goals that are important to you.

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space. Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.

Gloria so far has been such a kind, warm therapist. Not only does she allow me to speak freely without judgement, but she also validates my feelings and allows me to be vulnerable (something I’ve only done with very few people in my life). I would highly recommend her to anyone trying to gain a footing if they suffer from severe depressive episodes or major anxiety.

My time with Ms Cooper has been extremely beneficial and useful for me to learn to cope with a range of issues, including family issues, understanding and reframing my personal values and coping with expectations from others, processing my experiences in dating, etc. I have taken away several useful tips and learnings from our therapy sessions and look forward to therapy every week to be able to consolidate and process my racing thoughts in a healthy manner with Ms Cooper! She has also been extremely understanding of my unconventional/specific cultural background and upbringing and has taken great care to learn about how things work in my family/society before giving me her advice, which I really respect.
