Hello. Thank you for taking the time to learn a little about me. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor. I believe while I am an expert in my field, you are the expert of your life. I view counseling as an opportunity to walk side by side with my clients, and offer them support and skills while dealing with life challenges. I take a person centered and solution focused approach. I utilize techniques from Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy (TF-CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Motivational Interviewing (MI). You may not have been responsible for the things that have happened in your life. You are responsible for how you respond to those things from this day forward! You have made the first step in seeking help and I would be honored to join you in your journey.

A little more about me... I earned my Bachelor's degree in Rehabilitation Studies in 2008 and began working in addiction counseling in 2009. I have worked in a variety of settings including adult and juvenile criminal justice institutions, adult residential centers, and running an addiction recovery program in a homeless shelter for women and children. I have worked with the family and criminal court systems to help people along their individualized recovery journey. In 2018 I earned my Masters of Arts in Integrated Recovery and Co-Occurring Disorders and began working towards earning my independent LPC. I have extensive history in both addiction and trauma counseling and view it as a privilege when a client chooses to share their story with me.

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.

Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.
