I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Michigan with over 17 years of experience working as a psychotherapist, addiction counselor and life coach. I obtained my Master of Arts degree in counseling with a specialization in Art Therapy from Wayne State University in May of 2005. I am providing individual, group, and art therapy services for those with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, relationship issues, parenting problem, trauma/abuse survivors, anger management, addiction recovery/Co-Occurring disorders, Men's Issues, and religion/spiritual concerns. I have also worked with those who are chronically, persistently mentally ill, as well as those in the Court and County Jail systems.

My primary approach to therapy is to engage clients with Cognitive Behavioral, Trauma-Focused, and Art Therapy techniques, as well as other evidenced-based practices. I draw from a multi-disciplined background in crisis intervention, counseling, expressive arts, popular media, 12 step groups to aid a client in fully accessing their potential for treatment to be truly effective. It is my belief in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity and compassion, and I don’t believe in labels. The journey of 1,000 miles begins with one step. I am here to walk with you and support you.

I look forward to working with you!

Online counseling allows you to receive care from a mental health practitioner via phone, video chat, or instant messaging. It is convenient for those who may have trouble getting to or would prefer not to have in-person therapy appointments. Starting at $65 per week, online counseling is generally more affordable than in-person counseling. A study by researchers at University of California, Berkeley found that online counseling can be just as effective as face-to-face therapy while being more convenient, affordable, and accessible.

Eric is amazing, best therapist I’ve ever seen

Reviewed November 2022

Eric has been great. He approaches you as a person and not just a patient or next person in line to help. He shares his own growth and struggles which reassures you that you aren't alone in growing. He listens and provides both constructive feedback to help in your growth as well as praise for doing the right things. Overall he has made this experience much easier to adjust to then I had expected.

I had my first session with Eric after meeting with 2 previous counselors that didn’t meet my needs. From the first sentence, I knew he could help me. He listens, he asks great questions, he’s perceptive, he cares. He has made me think about things that I would not have, and stop obsessing about the things that I was obsessing about. I look forward to working with him.

Eric has been great so far. Helping me find the root of some of my anxiety and depression. We are working on steps to get past some things that cause that.

Reviewed November 2022

I appreciate that Eric is able to hear my perception, understand it, give insight to the other perception, and have a conversation about them.
