Dear Reader, my name is Theresa and I live in Swansea which is in South Wales, UK. I am qualified as an Integrative Counsellor, Accredited MBACP and Accredited member of the National Counselling & Psychotherapy Society NCPS. I use my knowledge and skills in a way that is most helpful to you by adapting my approach to suit your individual needs and preferences. I understand the importance that we accept our individuality and uniqueness, our personal view of ourselves and the world once identified, is how we are able to make changes that work best for ourselves.

I have been working as a counsellor since qualifying in 2018. My counselling student hours was completed at a Mental Health Charity named MIND and whilst there I gained an immense amount of invaluable learning, understanding and knowledge. Working with many clients that came into the charity with a diverse range of issues, requesting my help to support and work with them in order to aid their path forwards in self development, understanding acceptance and positive changes.

My working methods strongly stems from my compassion, kindness, patience and understanding that there are times in our lives when we are struggling, having someone to talk to; who listens without judgement; hears without interrupting and offers a safe and secure place for you to feel able to talk though problems is of a great importance in building a strong therapeutic relationship. Based on my initial person centered approach, I will enable your self belief, trust, confidence and personal growth expand into positive changes.

I use a variety of evidenced-based tools and techniques that will support you in understanding the issues impacting your life today, and more importantly help you get to live your life the way you want and deserve.

Words cannot explain the amount of support I’ve received from my therapist Theresa Cadd. She was the first therapist I was matched with and for that I value BetterHelp greatly. Theresa has been with me through the hardest time of my life and I simply can’t imagine getting through my mom’s illness and death without her guidance and wisdom. Theresa has been amazing throughout the very difficult process I am undergoing. Theresa ha stwlaly helped me to challenge negative ideas and irrational thoughts and false beliefs that I previously had about myself and how I handle things. Theresa has been an invaluable addition to my mental health betterment journey. Prior signing up I was really doubtful whether the app can provide me with a counsellor who is capable to manage my personality disorder as I had a lot of previous disappointments where I felt there is no help. I am extremely grateful to have her, she is amazing. Within 10 minutes of our first conversation I felt like she understands me and gave me a straight spot on feedback regarding my goals which made me feel like she knows me. I've had only 2 sessions so far but I feel like my life turned round and I made significant changes what I was so scared to do before.
