With many things in life so much is entangled from emotions, experiences and people. Ruth is good at untangling where a current emotion is also occurring in other parts of my life and from the past and present to help me open up. Flexibility with sessions is always offered and a supporting tool like a worksheet or approach is suggested to try in response to a new topic that’s been brought up. I feel like she remembers previous conversations and the style and sensitivity of communicating with me from week to week. This personal approach provides trust and comfort, as well as the confidence to discuss difficult topics.

Ruth is very easy to talk to and really listens, and takes into account the things you have said work for you in therapy. One thing I've really noticed is that specific things I've said help me when I'm having a hard time processing something, she has immediately brought those helpful reflections in to remind me of them. She's been a really great help to me so far and I feel much more positive about the outlook for my self development thanks to her.

I am a qualified and BACP Registered Person-Centred Counsellor. I have extensive experience working in Bereavement as well as with depression, anxiety and those affected by cancer. I work on a one-to-one basis offering both short and long term therapy.

I aim to build a trusting, warm and non-judgemental therapeutic relationship with the hope that you will feel comfortable to talk about things that might be difficult to talk about with those close to you for whatever reason. Starting counselling can be daunting but also a real step towards whatever goal you may have when looking for a therapist.

Outside my private client work, I have worked with Cruse Bereavement Care and Macmillan, where I have done further training within the respective fields as well as undertaking CPD within these organizations to further my professional development. Working within these organizations has been a wonderful and rewarding experience, where I have worked with a diverse range of clients.

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.

Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.
