More about Wendy

  • 22 years' experience

I have been in practice now for almost 20 years, I am a warm, empathic human being who believes that at some points in our lives we benefit from having someone to work with us to untangle life events and where we find ourselves currently, we can do this. I am a firm believer that we all have our own answers if we have someone to assist us in accessing them. I have worked with many presenting issues, particularly abuse in all its forms and the resulting trauma, you may have experienced this as a child or adult or both. It's not always the big things we think of as "trauma" it is anything a person experiences as traumatic for them. Therefore this presentation often includes relationship challenges, addiction, depression, anxiety, anger, or a mental health diagnosis. I work in a preventative way and believe diagnosis is not always necessary. However, understanding ourselves on an emotional level and working through unhelpful emotions often gets us to where we would like to be. I am a registered member of the BACP here in the UK.

When I'm not working in the field of mental health I spend time with my family and my two labradors, I like to be outdoors walking and watching horse events. I also love to paint in watercolor and try new mediums. My current experiment is with acrylic pouring!

It is convenient for those who may have trouble getting to or would prefer not to have in-person therapy appointments. Starting at $65 per week, online counseling is generally more affordable than in-person counseling. A study by researchers at University of California, Berkeley found that online counseling can be just as effective as face-to-face therapy while being more convenient, affordable, and accessible.

Kind, considerate, multifaceted in her approach to explaining things if not immediately understood, patient. I don’t consider her a therapist: I’d consider her a friend.

Compassionate and caring, patient and understanding. All that a therapist needs to make you feel valued and respected. So far Wendy has been all of these and even at this early stage I feel comfortable taking to her.
