More about Shanne

I am a person-centred counsellor, as well as a hypnothearpist. I have 6 years experience as a counsellor, but have worked with clients for over 10 years in the capacity of a Pastoral Learning Mentor and as a volunteer counsellor for various charities as well as having my own private clients. I work with clients using primarily the person-centred approach, but have learned other skills over the years and will incorporate those in the counselling room, such as art therapy, CBT and other therapy forms, I often attend courses and seminars to expand on my knowledge and to learn new ways of supporting clients. Each client will get sessions catered to them and their individual needs and unique way of working. I am originally from Denmark but have lived in the UK for 22 years and feel that I bring some of my heritage to the sessions, as I am at times being able to be more direct and more solution focused if this is what the client wants/needs.

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.

Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.

Even though being skeptical about virtuel therapy, Shanne made me feel very comfortable from the beginning of our first session. She listened to what I had to say, offered me good tools and tips on how I can work on the things I need to work on at the moment. I give Shanne my highest recommendation :-)
