I am extremely happy with BetterHelp, and with Julie as my therapist - she is the only therapist I've been working with since the beginning. She is always available, extremely compassionate and open minded, and she has been helping me immensely during a tough period of my life, where I had to go through changes that I thought were bigger than me. Could not recommend her highly enough!

More about Julie

  • 15 years' experience
  • Female

I began nursing in 1979 and really enjoyed being with and around people .As the years went by I became increasingly aware that I wanted to spend more time with my patients. Talking, listening to their concerns and supporting them through major life changing events. During a traumatic time in my personal life, I had my own experience of counselling. It had such a positive and motivating effect on my life that it encouraged me to pursue counselling as a career. I am a relational counsellor, the relationship I share with my clients is very important. I create a caring, supportive and empathic environment enabling my clients to work in a way that helps them gain insight to their inner strengths. This strength aids them to engage in making choices to positive change. These changes enable clients to feel fulfilled and satisfied in life and also creating meaning and trust in not only the relationship they have with themselves, but also the relationships they share with others. I am also accredited by the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists. This means I have achieved a substantial level of training and experience that has been approved by the BACP.

Online counseling allows you to receive care from a mental health practitioner via phone, video chat, or instant messaging. It is convenient for those who may have trouble getting to or would prefer not to have in-person therapy appointments. Starting at $65 per week, online counseling is generally more affordable than in-person counseling. A study by researchers at University of California, Berkeley found that online counseling can be just as effective as face-to-face therapy while being more convenient, affordable, and accessible.
