I have been seeing Sheila Wassell for the last few months. To say that she is empathetic and caring is an understatement. I feel incredibly lucky to have her as a therapist. She has helped me during one of the most difficult times in my life, helped me grow, challenged my maladaptive views of myself, and been a continual support. I could not speak highly enough of her.

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.

Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.

I felt comfortable during sessions with Ms. Wassell. I was gently prompted to explore further the topics l brought up. She also gave plenty of tools to try out, for example anchoring activities. Ms. Wassell was mindful of our time differences and offered to schedule sessions at a time other than that provided in the original schedule.

Sheila's a great listener and really helps to guide you towards the roots of your mental health problems. She considers everything you say, and helps you to have that dialogue with yourself which you need in order to find and address your deep-seated issues. She's helped me immeasurably.

Insightful and gentle. I have a lot of past and ongoing trauma and multiple diagnoses including autism and schizoaffective. Sheila helps make sense of it all and helps me work through it. It's a long path of imperfect healing for me and I'm so glad she's my therapist. Her "homework" is also very good so when I feel like progressing a little more quickly she helps me with developing emotional and mental resilience in my life and with others. There is rarely any situation too heavy or serious that we can't figure it out in session. 10/10 recommendation. Thanks for all you do.

Kind, Sharp and professional. Sheila does great effort making the most of her patient’s time and money, she has many practical tips and practices, and in the same time, knows when and how to involve them in a useful way, keeping herself open and listening to any needs that float to the surface. I’d warmly recommend her, for both lighter and darker matters and difficulties.

Reviewed July 2023

wonderful, at a time when I’ve been feeling totally hopeless and exhausted she has helped me to understand anxiety and to help set manageable goals & expectations for getting well again. She is very easy to talk to and her comprehension is terrific. I’ve had therapists in the past who completely miss the tone and only half listen which has led to further hurt and lack of trust . Sheila is different she is 100% present and really with me for my recovery.

Reviewed May 2023

Very comfortable to talk with, sensible and a good listener. Glad I was matched with her. I get the feeling she can adapt to any person. Super understanding, attentive, kind, professional. Not on a high horse, like some therapists. Sheila is down to earth and genuinely cares about her clients.

So far I have only had one session with Shiela but I don’t think I’ve ever felt the level of warmth and kindness with any other working professional in the mental health sector before. Just in a single session she managed to identify my needs and a lot of personality traits linked to my previous trauma. For the first time in my life I feel I will be able to address my trauma and mental health in a positive and constructive way that will allow me to move forward in life.

Reviewed January 2023

Sheila is very easy to talk to. I was worried I would feel awkward speaking to a stranger as it’s the first time I have tried counseling. Within a few minutes speaking I felt at ease. Sheila is a very good listener, she takes notes and seems to have a great passion for helping others. I am very grateful to have her helping me! Thank you Sheila!

Reviewed January 2023

I worked with Sheila for a few months over a number of issues. Shiela is kind, non-judgmental, open and genuinely cares about her clients. She has helped me in so many ways, helping unpack and understand child trauma and current environmental trauma, while also giving me tools with how to cope and live with these triggers in the future. I would recommend Sheila 100% and will miss our talks!
