More about Leola

  • 8 years' experience
  • Female
  • LPC

I am Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Georgia. Originally from Colorado, I moved to Atlanta in 2007 to pursue my Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology at the illustrious Spelman College. I then earned my Master of Arts degree in clinical mental health at Argosy University. Throughout my years of working in the field I have provided services in various therapeutic settings, including inpatient psychiatric hospitals, and various community based mental health agencies.

My clinical experience includes, but is not limited to individual and family therapy with children, adolescents and adults, intake and psychosocial assessments, and crisis stabilization work as an Intensive Family Intervention team lead. I have worked with individuals from many culturally diverse backgrounds with severe trauma histories.

I utilize various therapeutic approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy and Solution Focused therapy. I believe that each client travels a unique journey down the road to self-discovery. I strive to assist individuals with making positive changes by tailoring my modalities to fit your specific needs, and by focusing on your strengths. By acknowledging patterns, breaking cycles, and restoring balance, individuals can greatly improve their quality of life.

I look forward to assisting you on your journey!

It is convenient for those who may have trouble getting to or would prefer not to have in-person therapy appointments. Starting at $65 per week, online counseling is generally more affordable than in-person counseling. A study by researchers at University of California, Berkeley found that online counseling can be just as effective as face-to-face therapy while being more convenient, affordable, and accessible.
