Do you often find yourself feeling burdened and struggling to stay committed to your goals? Have you had negative experiences with therapists in the past, leading you to doubt the effectiveness of therapy? Perhaps you're even questioning whether therapy is the right choice for you at this moment. These are common thoughts and concerns shared by many of my clients.

I understand that traditional therapy, with its stereotypical image of sitting in a room with a stranger who asks, "So, how do you feel about that?" can come across as robotic and impersonal. I believe therapy should be a genuine and a personal experience. If you've been trying the same approach repeatedly and haven't seen the results you desire, it's time to consider something different.

With years of experience in therapy, I specialize in assisting clients with managing stress, overcoming anxiety, fostering self-discipline, boosting self-esteem, and increasing confidence. I take an unconventional approach, steering clear of clinical jargon and outdated textbook techniques. Instead, I rely on a combination of strengths-based therapy, empathy, active listening, exposure therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), and motivational interviewing to guide you toward achieving your goals.

Taking the first step towards seeking a more fulfilling and happier life requires courage, and I am here to provide you with the support and guidance you need.

Should you feel in need of urgent help or that you are in crisis at any time during our work together; please call 1-800-273-TALK 24 hours a day; or 911. This forum does not provide any type of emergency services, so I want to be sure you know who to contact if you need immediate help.

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space. Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.

So glad I was connected with Valerie Russell as my therapist! Can be overwhelming and stressful to find a good therapist these days, but Valerie made my experience at ease. She's very understanding, educational, supportive, and gives superb advice! Always there to check up on how your doing and works around your needs to better yourself. I supremely recommend Valerie Russell as your therapist

Valarie was the fourth therapist I tried after having no luck with others. I felt like I got cookie cutter responses from my therapists before, and sometimes I also find difficulty putting how I feel into words, and fear I ramble and make no sense. Val has the ability to decipher what I’m trying to get across each time, remembers what I tell her, and reaches out throughout the week to check in on me. She makes me feel comfortable and heard and leads the session, where as in the past I felt I was leading it and I didn’t necessarily love that. She meets you where you’re at and I love that as well, and makes you feel heard and seen. I’m grateful to have finally found the therapist that works for me!
