Hello, my name is Troy J. Miles, MA, LPC, EMDR. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in South Carolina with over sixteen years of professional experience in this field. I currently hold a Master of Arts degree in Clinical Psychology. I have been heavily involved in community outreach including co-founding an Addiction Recovery Program. My therapeutic orientations are primarily cognitive behavior therapy, client-centered therapy, and family systems. In addition, I am a trained EMDR (eye movement desensitization and reprocessing) therapist. I have experience helping clients experiencing depression, anxiety, anger problems, difficulties adjusting to a life crisis, obsessive-compulsive disorder, family discord, and childhood disruptions. I have focused on personality, developmental, and cognitive assessments in my psychological training and practice as a professional counselor. I have a direct, yet empathic approach where I focus on being non-judgmental and acceptance for all as a priority. We all deserve to have the ability to be authentic and genuine. I am honored to work with you to help you identify and seek out the best modalities that will help assist you in reaching your goals. I feel sure that our teamwork will facilitate you having a brighter outlook on life. I hope you have a relaxing day. Troy

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.

Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.
