I am licensed in Maryland with over 14 years of professional work in private practice. I have experience in helping clients with a variety of different problems including stress and anxiety, trauma, depression, & coping with life changes. Often individuals enter therapy with a number of issues they wish to work to address. I am a therapist who interacts with my clients in a collaborative manner in setting goals related to working on all the issues that brought them into therapy. My first treatment goal is to create an open and safe environment where thoughts and feelings can be shared without fear of judgment. Taking the first step to sign up for therapy can take courage and I am proud of you for getting started!

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.
Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.

She is understanding and now how to listen to what I have to say I luv her
Dr Wheeler has been integral in helping me combat some very stressful situations and maneuver through some difficult times. She listens with intent, she offers multiple suggestions or remedies or tools so that I can identify which one (or ones) work the best for me, she follows up to see how I'm doing, and she's always super friendly and comforting. I feel like I am in a much better place after my sessions with Dr Wheeler.
