Introduction

I am licensed counsellor in the UK with 5 years of professional work experience and over 10 years of experience in related therapeutic settings. Taking the first step to sign up for therapy can feel daunting, and often requires courage, and as such often is the most difficult step on the path to consistent wellbeing. My endeavour is to make the next steps easier for you.

I have about 3 thousand hours of experience in helping people with their mental struggles, and over twice that amount, in related fields (academic mentoring, care in institutional settings, hospices).

What Can I help you with

The issues I have encountered are and complex, just as the people themselves. The people I have been able to help, were struggling with the following adversities:

• Depression

• Trauma

• Complex ptsd

• Relationship issues

• Autistic Spectrum Disorder (be it themselves, or their close ones)

• EAP related issues

• Learning difficulties and sensory loss (eye sight, hearing)

• Body dysmorphia and LGBTQ+ related issues

• Loneliness and social anxiety

• Grief and loss

• Narcissist abuse

These are the issues I am confident I can aid you with.

My approach

My professional development includes several therapeutic modalities: person-centred, existential, MCBT, Focusing, Intersubjectivity and Gestalt. At their core is the relationship with each individual person I meet and the depth of trust which facilitate openness and growth. This is what the ‘intersubjective’ part refers to.

This conclusion has been verified by multiple studies, which highlight that more than any type of therapy, it is the trusting alliance which is the biggest predictor in the client’s therapeutic success. (T. DeAngelis, American Psychological Association. Vol 50, No.10)

In practice it means that it is the trust, communication and mutual understanding which is a foundation and integrates the multiple therapeutic approaches into effective service-package which you can apply and adopt to tackle problems besetting you. Over time, without the help of a qualified professional. To that end, I use, in agreement with the client, multiple helping tools, that you can practically apply to improve your life situation noticeably. These include:

• Worksheets

• Mood charts

• Journalling

• Mindfulness practice

• Genograms (graphical representation of your family tree)

• Movement and embodiment

• Artistic and creative forms of expressions

I am committed to my ongoing personal development. My robust support group includes 2 separate Supervisors (counselling mentors that oversee the quality of my work), and peer support in the Gestalt School I am a part of. They provide me an objective feedback and ongoing support, preventing burnout and steadily increasing quality of my work.

Time

Regular weekly sessions tend to work the best, however we are all individuals, this is continually negotiated with every client I support. You can see my availability for the current period on my schedule. In terms of communications between sessions, I respond to most of them in the morning (between 7-10 am in my time zone), mid-day (2 pm in my time zone). However if it is a matter of urgency, I will respond as feasibly practical.

As mentioned at the beginning, taking the leap of faith and giving it a go can be scary indeed. Having been in therapy myself, I felt it occasionally. This however, didn’t make me shun away from it, rather it has helped me understand what it may be like for you - being able to ‘walk the walk’, rather than merely ‘talk the talk’.

Online counseling, sometimes called teletherapy, refers to talk therapy delivered remotely through digital platforms, such as video calls, phone calls, or chat. It can be a great option for people who face barriers to traditional face-to-face therapy, such as those living in remote areas, individuals with mobility issues, or people with busy schedules that make it difficult to attend in-person sessions. Teletherapy also offers greater convenience and flexibility, allowing clients to access care from the comfort of their homes. Research shows that the treatment outcomes with online counseling are often just as effective as with traditional therapy, providing a viable alternative for individuals seeking mental health support.

Marcin is a great listener. He genuinely helped me expand my awareness of any of the different situations I was having problems with. He asks brilliant questions that help me find the answers myself without him projecting anything onto me. I would recommend to anyone dealing with relationship confusion of feelings of life overwhelm :)
