Sian is a wonderful person who really seems to understand me. She challenges me gently when she notices I may be catering to a bad habit we've discovered, but never makes me feel guilty about it. When I need a clear head to weigh in on a problem I'm stuck on, she's right there to give a professional outside view. It didn't take long for her to learn what coping mechanisms I cling to that may actually be unhealthy for me. When I start to shrink back into these ways, she reminds me of the bigger picture and why I've decided I'm leaving those old ways behind. It does take repetition with me, and she's been so patient with me from day one.

Hello,

As an Integrative psychotherapist, my goal is to help you develop self-worth and self-acceptance so that you can learn to love yourself. Self-compassion and self-care are essential tools in this journey. Trusting your judgment and believing in your ability to make the right decisions and put yourself first can help you leave behind people-pleasing behaviors and co-dependency.

However, I understand that this journey isn't always easy. That's why I believe it's crucial to explore our attachment styles and delve into our past to understand why we struggle with emotional regulation and feelings of inadequacy. By being kind to ourselves and allowing ourselves to feel emotions without judgment, we can learn to be vulnerable, which is a strength.

Although I don't consider myself an academic person, I'm an Integrative Psychotherapist who uses various theories and approaches in therapy, including the Psychodynamic approach, Humanistic Approach, Polyvagal Theory, Attachment Theory, and the window of tolerance.

I am licensed in the UK with 3 years of professional work experience. I have experience in helping clients with stress and anxiety, coping with addictions, trauma and abuse, & motivation, self esteem, and confidence. I believe that you are the expert of your story and that you have many strengths that will assist you in overcoming things that challenge you. Taking the first step to seeking a more fulfilling and happier life takes courage.

Why me?

I have had therapy...

As a child, I experienced trauma and, as a result, struggled to regulate my emotions; the older I got, I quite quickly developed a panic disorder. I worried about everything; I didn't fit in anywhere and felt like I hated myself; nothing was good enough or achievable. As I got older, I had little to no self-worth, confidence and self-esteem, which impacted my relationships and attachment to others and caused me to develop social anxiety. I never thought I could ever feel better, that was until I had therapy.

Therapy helped me understand myself in ways I never thought possible; I can now process why I experienced anxiety, and I have developed tools to help me sustain emotional regulation. I have learned that the mind and body are connected; I can identify what causes my physiological symptoms to trigger my stress responses and manage it.

Perhaps you can relate in some way, and maybe you're down or anxious - maybe you're unsure about the future of a relationship or feel that you aren't living the life you were meant to lead. Whatever your needs may be, I am here to offer support. I am here to help you learn to love yourself and give yourself the love and support you need.

Therapy is a process of growth and self-discovery. In my sessions, I promote learning about how our thoughts, actions and behaviours impact our bodies and minds and encourage the adoption of new attitudes and reactions. I have the tools and personal and professional experience to help you get back on track.I have experienced pain and trauma and know how hard life can be; I believe a someone's behaviours do not define them as a person.

It's important to note that I have a spinal condition that occasionally flares up, causing me pain. During such times, I may suggest conducting our session over the telephone, as it allows me to be more comfortable and better manage my condition.

Online counseling, sometimes called teletherapy, refers to talk therapy delivered remotely through digital platforms, such as video calls, phone calls, or chat. It can be a great option for people who face barriers to traditional face-to-face therapy, such as those living in remote areas, individuals with mobility issues, or people with busy schedules that make it difficult to attend in-person sessions. Teletherapy also offers greater convenience and flexibility, allowing clients to access care from the comfort of their homes. Research shows that the treatment outcomes with online counseling are often just as effective as with traditional therapy, providing a viable alternative for individuals seeking mental health support.

Sian really listens and gives advice. I’ve found other therapists dismissive and find them constantly giving exercises that don’t help. Sian is the first therapist I’ve wanted to stick with and move forward with. Highly recommend

Sian is understanding and helps me to understand my feelings. She gives me tools I can use in the future. She helps me link past traumas/events together, so I can understand why smaller events are so triggering. She goes deeper than any other counsellor/therapist I’ve had (& there’s been a few!), so I actually feel like we’re getting somewhere and doing some positive rebuilding. Thank you Sian!

I just had one video call with Sian before I got a therapy spot in my living are and changed there. I loved talking with Sian - she was asking good questions to get to the core of my issues. She was also always checking in on me.

We haven’t had a lot of time yet, but I’ve already noticed that she’s picking up on what kind of advice I respond well to. There are some things that I’m a bit stubborn about, and I think she’s already adjusting how she words things so that they’re easier for me to accept and process.
