My professional journey began 18 years ago, with a desire to help people overcome some of the challenges they are facing at different stages in life and took me on working with families and individuals from different walks of life, some facing situations of homelessness or imprisonment. Following a career in social care, I decided to train as a therapist.

I qualified in Integrative Counselling and Hypnotherapy, having experienced their transformative effects myself. This means I have a multi discipline approach to counselling and therapy, which includes Psychodynamic Therapy, CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy), Gestalt, Hypnotherapy and Guided Relaxation techniques (progressive muscle relaxation). I offer a unique set of skills and experience and tailor my therapy to suit your individual needs.

My own journey through life taught me about compassion and the importance of keeping an open-mind to the opportunities that may arise from our struggles and this is something I carry in my work with clients. When we are consciously and actively changing what dissatisfies us about our current selves or our lives, we are pursuing the fundamental human need to maximising our potential. My practice is a safe place for you to talk through your concerns, fears and hopes for the future.

You may feel lonely, worried, helpless, hopeless about the future or at your bleakest moment. Seeking therapy is having the courage to take the first step and this makes all the difference. I can help with exploring anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, bereavement and relationships.

I think of therapy as an adventure into our inner landscapes, a process of self-discovery, which requires building trust, mutual respect, feeling understood and emotionally “held” and a belief in our capacity for growth.
