More about Sharon

  • 8 years' experience

I am a qualified therapist who uses an integrative approach, based on the unique needs of each client. I am based in the UK with 8 years of professional work experience. I have woked within the role of Psychotherapist, counsellor and mentor with individuals aged from 16 years old up to 75 years of age. I enjoy working with people from different cultural backgrounds and have a great appreciation of the many different perspectives, which come from unique life experiences. Nothing is ever to small or insignificant to be brought to therapy. Anxiety is a common emotional response to adverse life experiences and I have much experience in helping clients with anxiety and stress. If you are coping with grief and loss, I can help you process the intense emotional and sometimes physical reaction, to the loss of a loved one. As a mother of 7 children, I am experienced with many of the joys and struggles of raising a family, while keeping some space for down time and 'me time' with all the guilt which can be associated with doing so. I have worked extensively with individuals struggling with low self-esteem and low confidence, whilst being able to help individuals discern the difference between Self-Esteem, Self-Compassion and Self - worth, enabling them to appreciate who they are, and progress positively in life, in areas that matter. I use an integrative approach depending on your unique needs and I practice Compassion focused therapy, Acceptance and Commitment therapy, alongside Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, as required. I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion. It takes courage to seek out a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards a change, as the process can seem to be quite daunting. I am here to support & empower you in that journey. I will offer you a safe and non judgemental place to explore your main areas of concern and would encourage you to prioritise your needs, as your well being matters. Together we will sensitively work on any underlying beliefs that you may hold about yourself, which have been ingrained from a young tender age, and maybe preventing you from reaching your full potential. I look forward to meeting and working with you.

Online counseling, sometimes called teletherapy, refers to talk therapy delivered remotely through digital platforms, such as video calls, phone calls, or chat. It can be a great option for people who face barriers to traditional face-to-face therapy, such as those living in remote areas, individuals with mobility issues, or people with busy schedules that make it difficult to attend in-person sessions.

Teletherapy also offers greater convenience and flexibility, allowing clients to access care from the comfort of their homes. Research shows that the treatment outcomes with online counseling are often just as effective as with traditional therapy, providing a viable alternative for individuals seeking mental health support.
