Having had therapy with Claire last year to help me through a difficult time after a bereavement and a car accident, I didn’t hesitate to contact her again to help me when at a crossroads regarding my career. Claire understands what is going on with me emotionally and can quickly pinpoint how and why I’m thinking in a certain way which helps me to process my emotions and regain a healthier sense of perspective. She’s very empathetic and I would definitely recommend her.

More about Claire

  • 20 years' experience
  • Female
  • BACP

I am licensed in the UK with 20 years of professional work and I am a registered member of the British Association of Counselling Practitioners (BACP). I have experience in helping clients as a Psychodynamic counsellor and my training incorporated Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Object relations Therapy, Transcultural Counselling , Family Counselling, PTSD, Couples counselling for conciliation, Transactional Analyses and Adult survivors of abuse counselling.

Different approaches can also help a client understand how current feelings and behaviours can be shaped by past experiences and can very much affect the present.

I therefore have an integrative approach which acknowledges that each person is completely unique, and may require their own individualised style of therapy. It also allows me to be flexible and adaptable in my approach, and will try something different if a session isn’t going as planned.

I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including depression, grief, relationship issues, parenting and family problems, Trauma PDST and PTSD, abuse both physical and emotional. I also have experience working with young people aged 11-18 in a school based environment.

I have also obtained a Reiki first degree , which has it's roots in the connection between the mind body spirit of a person and considered a type of energy healing.

It takes courage to take the first steps towards change, if you are ready to take that step, I am here to support on your journey and

I look forward to working with you!

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space. Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.

Claire has been the lighthouse I needed while navigating the dark and troubled waters of the mind.

Reviewed February 2024

Claire has understood my concerns completely and supported me through a difficult period. I came out of the experience feeling reenergised, with a higher level of self esteem than I have ever had before, and with a deeper knowledge of how to respect myself and love myself better, instead of being a people pleaser with unstable boundaries. I now feel more equipped to face life and its many challenges and adventures. I do not think I would have come out of this as well as I have done if not for Claire and Betterhelp. I would have been in months of depression and ended up still conflicted, scared and withdrawn from the world, without the near constant support, reassurance and wisdom from Claire and my friends. I got out of this stronger than before and knowing myself better. My heartfelt gratitude to Claire.

Claire listened and understood what I was going through, she’s very empathetic and really helped me to understand my thoughts and feelings. I found the therapy sessions to be quite transformative, I could really feel and see the progress I was making. It’s important to put the work in and commit to therapy but it’s really worth it. I would recommend Claire, she was brilliant.
