Mr. Young has truly been the first therapist to give me practical tools to use every single session. In fact, he’s the first to give me tools period. And they all work. He adapts them to my life and my way of thinking.. He listens to me. He makes me feel like at least one person cares about me. And that I can tell him anything without judgment. Just wonderful, fantastic, everything I need. I just can’t thank him enough.

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.

Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.

I decided to give therapy a chance again after a very bad "termination" experience with a former therapist (not through BetterHelp). I waited two years in between, allowing myself both time to heal as well as build confidence in my ability to hold on to a baseline level of mental health, with or without therapy. I trusted BetterHelp's matching process, as I didn't feel like I had a lot invested this time around. However, Ken has turned out to be a pleasant surprise, and I'm finding working with him quite rewarding, productive, and effective. I do feel as though I'm growing more quickly than I would've without his help. He helps me set goals that are conducive to positive long-term change. What I think he does particularly well is strike that delicate balance between holding me accountable vs. not making me feel pressured. He's not pushing/rushing me to change, but instead causing me to feel innately motivated.
