Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space. Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.

I immediately connected with my therapist. From day one, I felt like she heard my concerns and has helped me to feel seen, where I felt unheard and unseen before. Since meeting her, I feel more empowered to regulate my own emotions as well as manage undesirable feelings. I’m doing that a lot better with that after only three weeks. Internally, I feel a lot more stable and I’m very grateful for that. I appreciate that Lydia asks great questions that allow me to think about my own decisions in a way that doesn’t feel threatening or judgmental. She has an overall tone of compassion that makes it very easy to talk to her and I feel safe to express myself, honestly; good, bad and ugly. Since I’ve been working with Lydia, I’ve successfully navigated a few situations, that would have likely been very explosive prior to our sessions. I am more practical and intentional, and I believe my weekly session/balancer/reminder has a lot to do with it. I feel like I’m improving the quality of my life in a substantial way and I’m very excited about that. I’m already so grateful for our time.
