More about Sarah

  • 5 years' experience
  • Female
  • LCSW

I am a licensed therapist with a Masters Degree in Social Work from the University of Denver. I work in private practice and provide individual and couples counseling. I have experience treating individuals with a variety of challenges, including anxiety and depression, as well as using therapeutic techniques to resolve conflict between couples and families. I work with unconditional positive regard and am passionate about creating a safe space for growth and healing. Wellness and holistic health were primary areas of focus in my training and education.

I began my career in mental health by providing therapy to high risk youth and their families. I have a great deal of experience working with adolescents and young adults with trauma, behavioral challenges, school related issues, family conflict, anxiety and depression. I have experience working with adults and adolescents in various clinical settings, including inpatient crisis centers, community based outpatient therapy, and residential group homes.

I work with a therapeutic lens of positivity, empowerment, and non-judgement in order to create a supportive space for clients to work on a number of personal and relational issues. In my therapeutic work, I like to incorporate elements of mindfulness, problem solving, emotional de-escalation strategies, and behavioral techniques. I am trained in utilizing Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness meditation, Trauma Informed Care, and elements of Dialectical Behavior Therapy. I believe that healthy boundaries and warm attachment are critical ways of healing conflict between couples and families.

My self care includes practicing yoga and mindfulness, visiting the mountains, and spending time with my family. If you're interested in joining me on your process of healing, I invite you to reach out and send me a message. Let's get chatting!

Starting at $65 per week, online counseling is generally more affordable than in-person counseling. A study by researchers at University of California, Berkeley found that online counseling can be just as effective as face-to-face therapy while being more convenient, affordable, and accessible.
