Its a big step to seek support from a counsellor; perhaps you don't know what to expect, or a previous counselling relationship hasn't worked out, or perhaps you are returning to counselling after a long time. Whatever your situation, its helpful to know something about the person you are seeking support from. So here goes....

I qualified as a counsellor in the UK in 2012 and now have 11 years of experience in the field, working with a variety of clients. Prior to this I worked in social care for 22 years, supporting people with disabilities and the friends and family members who cared for them. As a result of my professional and personal experience, I have learnt a great deal about the impact that illness and disability can have on individuals and families and am keen to offer support. I have extensive experience of working with clients experiencing anxiety, depression and/or stress; people who feel suicidal or manage their feelings through self harm, or people who feel so low that they shut off from the world.

I am trained in person centred counselling and also have a qualification in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. When we first meet I will offer you plenty of time to tell me about your situation and what you hope to achieve through counselling and then talk through how I might help.

As a person centred counsellor, I believe passionately that we all have the resources within us to bring about positive personal change. I also know how helpful if can be to have a counsellor along on the journey.

I hope I can come along on your journey.

It is convenient for those who may have trouble getting to or would prefer not to have in-person therapy appointments. Starting at $65 per week, online counseling is generally more affordable than in-person counseling. A study by researchers at University of California, Berkeley found that online counseling can be just as effective as face-to-face therapy while being more convenient, affordable, and accessible.
