More about Julie

  • 4 years' experience
  • Female
  • BACP, NCPS

I am credentialed in the UK with 4 years of professional work experience. I have experience in helping clients with stress and anxiety, relationship issues, & parenting issues. I also have experience working with depression. I believe that you are the expert of your story and that you have many strengths that will assist you in overcoming things that challenge you. It takes courage to seek out a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards a change. I am here to support & empower you in that journey.

I am a fully qualified counsellor, with a Diploma in Counselling accredited by CPCAB. I am an accredited member of The National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society and a registered member of British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy. I trained in Person Centred Therapy but draw on other approaches to suit your individual needs.

I work in higher education as a counsellor during the term time and have always worked in the caring profession. I have completed level 2 courses on Mental Health Problems, Self-Harm and Suicide, Supporting Bereavement and loss, Early Trauma and Understanding Autism. I have recently completed courses on Solution Focused Therapy and Life Coaching.

I offer a confidential, safe, empathic, non-judgemental space where together we will work towards building a trusting relationship where you can feel comfortable enough to explore what is going on for you emotionally, physically and mentally.

My belief is that we are the only experts on ourselves and that we do have all the resources we need to be happy and fulfilled in our lives, for some of us we just don’t know it yet or maybe we have just lost the confidence to believe in ourselves. I welcome you to explore and challenge your beliefs and values to help you find the best way in life for you, the one that fits and allows you to work towards that wonderful goal of being you again.

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space. Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.
