Recent reviews

I am two sessions in with Michael and while our therapy relationship is relatively new, Michael has done a great job creating an environment where I feel heard. He has asked for clarification at key moments and I feel confident we can get some serious work done together given the time required.

I am a client-centred therapist with expertise in loss and grief; self-care; compassion fatigue/ burnout; mindfulness and present-centred therapy; addiction recovery; trauma recovery; identity and cultural issues.

I am a highly experienced university teacher, having trained many therapists over a number of years, and I have a rich understanding of therapeutic processes and of the huge importance of being non-judgemental and empathic with all clients.

I integrate contemporary practices into my clinical approach; and I have a strong commitment to therapeutic presence, which I recognise to be very helpful for creating a safe, free, and trustworthy therapeutic environment.

I firmly recognise the uniqueness of each individual person, and know that all people, bring with them to their therapy, a vast amount of untapped resources within themselves which are there to be discovered and utilised constructively.

Online counseling, sometimes called teletherapy, refers to talk therapy delivered remotely through digital platforms, such as video calls, phone calls, or chat. It can be a great option for people who face barriers to traditional face-to-face therapy, such as those living in remote areas, individuals with mobility issues, or people with busy schedules that make it difficult to attend in-person sessions.

Teletherapy also offers greater convenience and flexibility, allowing clients to access care from the comfort of their homes. Research shows that the treatment outcomes with online counseling are often just as effective as with traditional therapy, providing a viable alternative for individuals seeking mental health support.

Michael has been very helpful and listens to me. I feel I can disclose stuff in a trusting environment

Reviewed July 2024

I can’t explain how grateful I am for Michael. I left our first session feeling so much better after we peeled off a few layers to understand where things were stemming from. He has helped me so much and I feel truly heard and supported thanks to our sessions. I’ve learnt to view things from a new perspective and to redirect my overthinking to my advantage and not be so hard on myself. All work in progress but I’m happy knowing that I am moving in the right direction.

Michael listens well and in a non judgmental way. I would recommend!

Very patient and great at helping me understand and process what I'm going through

Reviewed January 2024

I’ve had one session so far with Michael, and it was incredibly positive. He was friendly, kind, and created a nonjudgmental space for me to try and work out what I am going through and processing currently. I felt really comfortable working with him, and am looking forward to future sessions. Everyone has to find their own best fit with a therapist, but for me, Mike has been great so far after one session, and has provided me tools and activities that are already showing some signs of helping in my life and managing anxiety.
