I am a Leeds based Psychotherapist/Counsellor – MBACP (Accred) with over 7 experience, my approach is the Relational Model. I am also a trained EMDR practitioner and a clinical hypnotherapist. I believe in creating a confidential, empathic, comfortable, safe and non-judgmental space where together we can explore the clients issues at their own pace. I am a Therapeutic trained counsellor experienced at working with Complex issues/ Trauma and PTSD. I offer a down-to-earth, forward thinking, non-directive approach. I endeavour to create a warm, non-judgmental therapeutic relationship where II can focus on the client and their situation.

I work with a wide range of problems including communication difficulties, anxiety, depression, Inner child work, self-esteem, grief, trauma, and addiction.

At present I am working for a charity called AWC Counselling and have been there since I started my placement in 2015 throughout my time with AWC. My current case load involves working with complex cases, bereavement/loss, Trauma and working with CAMHS as an intervention for young children and adolescents. I have developed both professionally and personally and gained more knowledge on complex cases through training provided.

My own background was medical trauma as a child which affected me later on in life. I got excellent help and once I realised there was light at the end of the tunnel and once I fully recovered I realised from my life experiences I could help others, this enabling me train to be a therapist.

Specialized knowledge and understanding of crisis thinking. Strong communicator with keen perceptivity that allows me to develop possible solutions and suggestions to help clients gain practical insight into their situations. A passion for helping others return to their personal centers, to regain emotional balance, and to reach a state of calmness where communication can take place and healing may begin. Experienced team player who continually seeks ways to help both clients and co-workers.

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.

Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.
