More about Tara

  • 20 years' experience
  • Female
  • LPC

I am licensed as an LPC in Texas and have 20 years of professional experience in mental health and life coaching. I hold a PhD in Human Services Counseling Studies and an MS in Counseling Psychology.

My experience includes working with individuals struggling with addictions, grief, self-esteem and confidence issues, anxiety and stress, and shame. I am also an experienced life coach and especially enjoy working with middle-aged women in transition.

My style is warm and collaborative. I believe that my first job is to help create a safe container for you to do the healing work you’ve come to do. Compassion, respect, empathy, and authenticity are values that I bring to each session. My approach is human-centered, trauma-informed, and eclectic. Mindfulness- and somatic-based theories and practices and cognitive-behavioral and narrative therapy inform my work with clients. My greatest guide in this work is you. I will meet you exactly where you’re at and will tailor our dialogue and the interventions that I offer to your specific, unique needs.

Your journey brought you here to this spot, right now, at this time. The next step is a courageous one - seeking change, seeking a more peaceful, joyful, fulfilling life. I’d love to walk with you as you step forward.

It is convenient for those who may have trouble getting to or would prefer not to have in-person therapy appointments. Starting at $65 per week, online counseling is generally more affordable than in-person counseling. A study by researchers at University of California, Berkeley found that online counseling can be just as effective as face-to-face therapy while being more convenient, affordable, and accessible.
