She has been absolutely amazing in helping me navigate very difficult relationships with my partner, in laws and parents after having a baby. She has made me feel so much better with the decisions I am making for my son.

More about Rachel

  • 8 years' experience
  • Female
  • LMSW

I am a licensed clinical social worker in the state of Michigan with 8 years of experience providing therapy. I have experience ranging from child welfare cases to severe and persistent mental illness (and everything in between.) My main areas of focus are in helping people who are experiencing women's issues such as motherhood issues, postpartum mood disorders, relationship issues, domestic violence, and sexual assault, and other life transitions and challenges. I also have significacnt experience working with members of the LGBT*Q+ community to resolve issues of trauma, internalized homophobia, familial abandonment, and the complexities of being queer in a heteronormative culture. I take a trauma focused approach and utilize narrative, emotionally focused, feminist therapy to help you feel in control of your own life again. I believe that everyone is an expert in their own experience, and my role as a therapist is simply to help you interpret the map to your destination. I will tailor our communication and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs, whether they be big or small. Starting therapy is a huge step toward your healing journey, and I'm so glad you're here. Let's connect so we can empower you for a better tomorrow, together.

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space. Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.
