More about Josephine

  • 20 years' experience
  • Female
  • LPC

My interest in counseling began over twenty years ago as a classroom teacher and school counselor. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC, #2541) practicing in the state of Arizona. I have worked with many schools and social service agencies with a particular skill set in trauma, transition, and anxiety.

I enjoy teaching clients about the therapeutic process. I believe that "thinking about our thinking" is time well spent. I use primarily Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Motivational Interviewing when working with clients. Through active listening and engagement, I work collaboratively with clients to create unique treatment plans that support personal direction and choice toward change and growth.

My husband and I enjoy a rural lifestyle with lots of animals and room for children and grandchildren to spend time with us. Travel, quilting and jigsaw puzzles take up a lot of my free time. And baking...lots of baking.

I look forward to working with you in a positive therapeutic relationship that can maximize your time and energy toward a happier and thoughtful path toward change.

Online counseling, sometimes called teletherapy, refers to talk therapy delivered remotely through digital platforms, such as video calls, phone calls, or chat. It can be a great option for people who face barriers to traditional face-to-face therapy, such as those living in remote areas, individuals with mobility issues, or people with busy schedules that make it difficult to attend in-person sessions. Teletherapy also offers greater convenience and flexibility, allowing clients to access care from the comfort of their homes. Research shows that the treatment outcomes with online counseling are often just as effective as with traditional therapy, providing a viable alternative for individuals seeking mental health support.
