More about Louise

  • 4 years' experience

I am credentialed in the UK and am an accredited member of the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society. I have experience in helping clients with a wide range of difficulties including relationship issues, trauma and abuse, coping with grief and loss, & motivation, self esteem, and confidence.

I will not tell you what to do, nor will I am claim to have all of the answers. I will listen to you without judging and I will provide a safe space where you can find your own answers.

My therapeutic style is truly pluralistic, meaning that I am not bound by any particular style or set of techniques. I am trained in person-centred counselling, cognitive behavioural therapy, and expressive therapies (for example, art, music, movement and story making.)

In my spare time, I enjoy martial arts, running and yoga. I am a member of Playback Theatre, a company who perform audience members' stories with improvised theatre and music. My creativity shines through in my therapeutic work and I can promise you that I will not be "that counsellor" who responds like a robot. And if you can't find the words or talking is hard, we can work in other ways. For example, drawing or expressive writing. No special artistic skill is needed as there is no "right" way to be creative.

I work with my clients to create an open and safe environment where thoughts and feelings can be shared without fear of judgment. Taking the first step to seeking a more fulfilling and happier life takes courage. I am here to support you in that process.

Online counseling, sometimes called teletherapy, refers to talk therapy delivered remotely through digital platforms, such as video calls, phone calls, or chat. It can be a great option for people who face barriers to traditional face-to-face therapy, such as those living in remote areas, individuals with mobility issues, or people with busy schedules that make it difficult to attend in-person sessions. Teletherapy also offers greater convenience and flexibility, allowing clients to access care from the comfort of their homes. Research shows that the treatment outcomes with online counseling are often just as effective as with traditional therapy, providing a viable alternative for individuals seeking mental health support.
