I’m Hendrina Sterling, a dedicated counsellor, psychotherapist, and clinical hypnotherapist (I don't offer Hypnosis on Betterhelp) with over a decade of experience in the NHS and more than six years as a self-development coach. I hold a BSc (Honours) in Psychology with Counselling, Postgrad and advanced training in Therapeutic Counselling and Psychological Therapy Practices.

My approach integrates Psychodynamic Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), Rapid Transformational Therapy (RTT), and mindfulness-based methods. This combination allows me to customize each session to address a wide spectrum of challenges such as stress, anxiety, trauma, self-esteem, depression, grief, eating disorders, and ADHD. I’m committed to helping clients find solutions that empower them to take on life’s challenges with greater independence and resilience.

For couples therapy, I use the imago therapy and the Gottman Method to help couples strengthen communication, deepen empathy, and build intimacy. We’ll focus on understanding each other’s inner worlds and work on creating a stronger, more connected partnership.

I am also the founder of MindEmpowerTherapy.com, where I provide therapeutic resources, and an author of personal development workbooks designed to support clients beyond the therapy space.

Additionally, I have a specialized focus on identifying Autism and ADHD in adults. Using screening tools like the Autism Spectrum Quotient (AQ) and Adult ADHD Self-Report Scale (ASRS), we can explore your experiences to gain clarity and build effective coping strategies. I don’t think I have enough words to describe what of a new feeling Hendrina made me explore. Hendrina has been the best therapist I have ever had in my life. After having gone through countless experiences that hindered my development as a person, it has helped me to recognize how these experiences affected me and how little by little through that recognition, I can begin to accept the experience and act according to my ideals and needs. Despite the fact that we have been in therapy for a short time and that it has been a process of ups and downs, I feel that I have advanced and that my perspectives are beginning to question themselves, to be able to exercise the changes that I need so much.
