Life is challenging and full of struggles. You may be feeling stuck or lost, out of control, low in mood, swamped by feelings of worry, guilt, shame or anger. Maybe you are finding it difficult to feel grounded in your life and connected to those around you. You could be experiencing a sense of emptiness that you can’t explain.

You are not broken; you are simply responding the things that have happened to you. You are important and you deserve to feel peace and presence in your life.

My name is Caroline and I am a fully qualified BACP registered therapist. With a background in education, I have experience working in mental health counselling settings and support services for young people (18-25), adults, and survivors of childhood, domestic or intimate partner abuse. I can also help clients who are struggling with the affects of stress, anxiety, family conflicts, trauma, abuse, & depression.

Therapy can offer you an escape from the “noise” of everyday life, creating a space just for you to explore and unpick your thoughts and feelings. It provides the freedom to be open in ways that might not be possible in other aspects of your life, and I believe it can be a powerful and transformative experience.

I work in a humanistic, person-centred way, believing that you and your journey are unique. In our sessions, you set the agenda and pace and I will tailor our dialog and treatment plan to meet your specific needs. We will work within your comfort tolerance and gradually extend these boundaries as you feel ready. My style is gentle, and I will meet you with compassion. I do not offer solutions or fix problems like a family member or friend might. Instead, I will hear you with complete acceptance, walking alongside you, providing validation for your feelings however confusing or distressing they may be. It takes courage to seek out a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards this. Together, I hope we can build a trusting therapeutic relationship to enable you to begin to process your pain, helping you move towards a sense of lightness and lasting change.

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.

Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.
